Model of Plane Army will Fly Round the World
Text on verso: 'Army officers gave all practical planes for the proposed round the world flight a careful study before picking one for the project. Photo shows from left to right, Captain Street, who headed the American fliers on their flight to Alaska and return, Col. Kilner, Lieut. Wade, Major Rader, and Gen. Patrick who are all examining the model of the Douglas Cruiser plane that will be used in the flight. On the table are models of the well-known French heliocopter which has just established a record for that type of machine, and a Martin Bomber which was at first chosen for the flight but later rejected on account of having twin motors which would probably cause trouble.'
