Interview with Ray Johnson, 2010 October 13
Johnson's interview illustrates the management progression system used by Textile Filers and is interspersed with Orlon business notes. In addition to giving his work history, Johnson details the Orlon process and business as he remembers it in the early 1960's, Kevlar business plans he observed during his time at Richmond, and the DuPont operations at Uentrop, Germany.

Ray Johnson began his career with DuPont as a process engineer in Orlon at Camden. From process Johnson was transferred to area management and after a time in Wilmington he was transferred to Waynesboro, again continuing in the Orlon business. Johnson then transferred to Richmond to manage the spun bonded, and later he transferred again to Wilmington as Production manager responsible for the Waynesboro and Camden plants, where his involvement with the Orlon business continued. After a time as production manager of the Dacron plants, Johnson transferred to Europe as the Manufacturing Director of the Europe operations. He returned to the United States in the Stainmaster carpet business and continued as Vice President of Manufacturing until retirement in 1992.
