Howard Ellsworth Seal, Sr. (1859-1940), the brother of Mary Emma Seal (1865-1941), owned Locust Knoll Farm until selling it in 1929. The mansard house pictured was built in 1872 on the site of former stone house. The carpenter was Darwin Underwood.
