Locust Knoll Farm was owned by William Heyburn Seal. Upon his death in 1910, the house and 115-acre property passed to his son, Howard Ellsworth Seal, Sr., who sold the house in 1929 when he retired from farming. Spencer Hovington worked on Locust Knoll Farm from 1896 to the farm's sale in 1929.
