Modern Transportation in an Anthracite Mine
Flexible conveyor belts carry newly mined coal for great distances underground. Motor driven apparatus provide many other forms of conveyance. The cables and drums shown in the picture operate a drag line which carries coal down from the face to points where it can be conveniently loaded.
