DuPont focus on safety commercial
Cavalcade of America Commercials Reel No.2
Man enters frame wearing safety equipment. Spokesman discusses how DuPont's accident rate in 1916 was high, but due to safety training programs, safety devices and protective clothing, the rates were greatly improved. A DuPont technician operating a 160 horsepower automobile engine is shown, testing chemicals added to gasoline to improve its efficiency. Safety measures such as an automatic cut off and a double layer of safety glass to protect the worker are pointed out. Other safety equipment used in the laboratory and safety meetings held throughout the company are mentioned.
