Hendrick writes that he has sent the 4 to 1 gear to Cleveland as it was unsatisfactory. Hendrick discusses the problems he had with it, noting that the installation of a 3 to one gear has been satisfactory.
Hendrick inquires about the catalogue he has requested which has not yet arrived, and about a 4 passenger steam carriage. There is a handwritten postscript which notes that the catalog has finally arrived and inquires about their surrey.
