This journal was compiled from Tousard's papers and includes copies of orders, military correspondence, and proclamations documenting his service as a military officer during the Haitian Revolution. It was compiled by Tousard while he was a prisoner at L'Abbaye. He intended to submit this document to the Convention Nationale in order to justify his actions during the Revolution.
