Tansill at the 80th Anniversary dinner and man-made fashion show sponsored by the National Federation of Textiles in New York recently. The prominent society matron who participated donated their modeling fees to favorite charities. Mrs. Tansill contributed to the New York City Soldiers' Sailors' & Airmen's Club.

The attractive, nubby texture is the result of the fiber's ability to be permanently crimped. The shrug is unusually pleasing to the touch and is also visually appealing, owing to a faint luster contributed by the DuPont fiber, which gives the sweater a slightly frosty look. This sleekly molded dress by Christian Dior-New York is made in an airy fabric of 100% rayon, notable for its exceptionally luxurious, soft hand. Called cashene by Dior, the fabric is smooth and sheer, but not transparent and is most comfortable to wear. Suitable now and on through the summer, this afternoon dress features Empire lines and a stand away collar that blends into the sleeve for a softly rounded shoulder line. A half belt is buttoned on to give a low-waisted look in the back.
