Lammot du Pont's description of the explosion of three DuPont powder wagons in Wilmington, Delaware. This explosion occurred on 31 May 1854. Lammot du Pont's narrative includes a description of the scene just after the accident and possible causes for the explosion. This description is an excerpt from a notebook titled "Notes on Accidents," written by Lammot du Pont in 1859.
