San Francisco NADA Convention: General Session Day 1, February 1, 2003, part 2
Part 2 of First day of NADA convention 2003 General Session in San Francisco, California. Continuation of speech by H. Carter Myers, 2002 NADA Chairman, speaks on the accomplishments of NADA during 2002 and the challenges for the upcoming year. Myers details the following as the three major goals NADA had for 2002: improve dealer-manufacturer relations and strengthen franchise system, increase NADA visibility in Washington, and improve dealer image in the public and media. Speech followed by Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award presented to John Berkstrom. Featured speaker is Ford Chairman and CEO, William Clay Ford, Jr. Ford speaks of the key lessons Ford Motor Company has learned from the past and how they are applying them to the future. These lessons include: success begins with great products, success of independent dealers as retail distribution network, and corporate citizenship and social responsibility as a crucial component of the automobile industry.
