Austin and du Pont families' photographs collection

About this collection

This digital collection features a small selection of 22 travel photographs from the Austin and du Pont families photographs (Accession 2005.281) collection. The collection has not been digitized in its entirety.
The images in this digital collection were taken by noted Western photographer William Henry Jackson (1843-1942), in the late nineteenth century. They largely depict scenic views from Colorado, where Jackson established a studio after 1878 to produce photographs of national and international views following the conclusion of his work conducting surveys of the Rocky Mountains with geologist Ferdinand Vandeveer Hayden (1829-1887).
