Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers records

About this collection

Tom Moser began a handmade furniture company with his wife, Mary, operating as business manager in 1972 at an old Grange Hall in New Gloucester, Maine. A former college professor, Moser's early designs were heavily influenced by the American decorative art traditions of the Shaker and Pennsylvania German communities, as well as by the Queen Anne style. In 1987, the company moved to a workshop in Auburn, Maine, which has since grown to more that 90,000 square feet while employing nearly 70 skilled craftsmen. The company utilizes North American hardwoods, and Moser's designs continue to take inspiration from traditional forms with a focus on craftsmanship. This digital collection features a selection of catalogs, promotional videos, showroom binders, photographs, and design sketchbooks.
