Du Pont descendants' and allied families' papers (Longwood)

About this collection

The du Pont family miscellany collection is part of the Longwood Manuscripts collection (Accession LMSS) of family papers assembled by Pierre S. du Pont (1870-1954) for his Longwood Library collection. Now held at Hagley Library, the Longwood Manuscripts collection is divided into ten collection groups. This, the fourth of those groups, contains the papers of the descendants of Victor Marie (1767-1827) and Eleuthère Irénée du Pont (1771–1834) and members of allied families.
The principal holdings in the Du Pont descendants' and allied families' papers (Accession LMSS.IV) collection are for Amelia Elizabeth du Pont (1796-1869) and Charles Irénée du Pont (1797-1869), children of Victor du Pont, and Charles's wife, Dorcas Van Dyke (1806-1838), as well as for Victorine du Pont Bauduy (1792-1861), Alfred Victor du Pont (1798-1856), and Eleuthera du Pont Smith (1806-1876), children of E.I. du Pont.
This collection has not been digitized in its entirety.
