Budd Company photograph collections

About this collection

    The Budd Company was a manufacturer of steel automobiles, passenger rail cars, and other transportation products. The company began in 1912, in Philadelphia as the Edward G. Budd Manufacturing Company specializing in the manufacturing of all-steel body automobiles. The company became a major producer of automobile parts as well as a manufacturer of stainless steel passenger railroad cars and other products.
    This digital collection contains photographs from a number of collections that originated from the Budd company archive, and which document a broad range of the company's activities. The Budd Company photographs (Accession 1999.228) collection is a physical collection at Hagley Library that has not been digitized in its entirety. The Budd Company digital photographs (Accession 2020.213) collection is a digital-only collection that was provided to the library on a loan for copy basis, and has been included in its entirety.
