'Lukens products find many interesting applications within the fields they serve. For example, Monel clad cylinders have gone into construction of the first man-made radar island that is part of the Continental Radar Warning System of the United States. Designated as the 'Texas Towers,' the off-shore islands will extend eventually from Newfoundland to Norfolk. Lukens furnished monel clad leggings for each of the three permanent legs to provide corrosion resistance against the action of the sea water.'
