Her explanation of the jobs and the things that happened bring focus into women's position and life in industry. Her description of the "Rigid" calendars she was exposed to in one area highlights the culture of the time. Hall moved through many different assignments and describes the areas she worked for in the clerical positions. She also describes accepting a transfer to Chattanooga as the Martinsville Plant was shutting down. A full transfer for nonexempt personnel was a new thrust by DuPont and a major change for Hall, who had spent her whole life in the Martinsville area. She also mentions her post-DuPont work for Invista.

Hall's early years describe what it was to live in the rural mountainous area of southwest Virginia. After several attempts he was hired by DuPont in 1968. It is significant to note that Hall describes the hiring as 500/600 in 1965 and 300 in 1968. He was in the latter group and the large group ahead of his affected his seniority all through his career.
Hall describes the T28 and T29 spinning machines which were the light denier modernized spinning machines. They were installed at Martinsville and later moved to Chattanooga. The process was not at all liked by the operators and Hall describes how and why. He relates the life of an operator in the spinning area and also relates various concerns about management decisions.

Atticks began his career writing a book on Maryland wineries, which lead to deepening engagement with that industry. Atticks enjoyed considerable success leading the Maryland Wineries Association, helping to organize the industry, and winning advantageous changes to the law. Observing opportunities to replicate this success, Atticks founded Grow + Fortify, LLC to serve the trade associations of Maryland craft brewers and distillers in addition to wineries. Atticks also discusses the wide array of factors influencing the development of the craft alcohol industries, including market conditions, consumer culture, the environment, and quality control.

The children tell a story about their father helping a man in a broken down Chrysler, and then calling GM about it. The children recall visiting their father in New York City and going to see Broadway shows and operas. They tell the story of how their parents met and the proposal. Bremer and Duffy recount their experience being in the hospital to have their tonsils out in 1928. Bremer describes visiting her father in his apartment at the Ritz Carlton and his office at the Empire State Building. They describe Skipper and Alice du Pont being close and enjoying gardening together, specifically at Longwood. They share a story about their father's funeral where a Packard automobile broke down, and joked that their father "was up there saying they should have gotten a GM." They describe his enjoyment of gambling, winning, and being right, though he enjoyed people standing up to him. The children talk about their college educations. They discuss their mother, Skipper moving to Camp Melody Pine in North Carolina and then to Arizona in 1938 with their sister, Nina Bennett. They share stories of memories of their mother at Camp Melody Pine and her hunting. While the three children talk about being unaware of their family's wealth, Duffy tells a story about her father buying her a dress and fur coat. They talk about being given an allowance and having to keep books. They recount the death of their siblings, Yvonne, Bill, and Catherine. They explain about their brother Bill being friends with Jack Corcoran, and how Jack came to be part of the family. Ben Raskob recalls finding out in high school that he had dyslexia. They discuss their siblings weddings. They explain that the servants that worked in the home they grew up were not thought of as servants, but rather as family, and how the children made their own beds, cleaned their own rooms, did some of the cooking. Finally, they talk a little about their father being part of the Democratic Party and Governor Al Smith's run for president.
