The footbridge seen above the oncoming Diesel in this photograph, allows continual access to New London's harbor and docks. New London is conveniently located halfway between Boston and New York.'
On verso: 'The main station in Fall River of the N.Y.N.H. & H. [New York, New Haven & Hartford] R.R. is located at North Main Street, between Bylies and Pearce Streets. It is built of granite and red sandstone, and was erected in 1891 at a cost of $50,000. A few years ago the grade crossings were abolished within the city limits, and the station was raised seven feet from its original foundation. This was considered a wonderful feat of engineering.'
