Tomb in Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, established during the Civil War on the grounds of the Arlington House, formerly the estate of Robert E. Lee's wife Mary Anna (Curtis) Lee, great-granddaughter of Martha Washington. Tomb is administered by the Department of the Army. It was built in 1932 on a hill overlooking Washington, D.C., at a cost of $48,000, and contains the remains of unknown soldiers from World War I, World Ware II, Korean War, and Vietnam War.

The SS Morro Castle was built in 1929 at Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company for the Ward Line to run between New York City and Havana, Cuba. She was named for the fortress and lighthouse at the entrance to Havana Bay. On September 8, 1934, the ship caught fire off the coast of New Jersey and burned, killing 137 of the 549 passengers and crew on board. The ship beached itself near Asbury Park, where it remained for several months before being scrapped. The disaster was the impetus...
