Show moreThe lonely figure in the picture above has just completed a job. He is the last man of an army of more than 37,000 men and women who manned the seven explosives plants DuPont operated for the government during the war and of many additional thousands who built them. He is Henry E. Jackel, chief accountant, who left Wabash River Ordnance Works, near Terre Haute, Indiana on February, 14, 1947 to return to Wilmington Accounting Department. DuPont completed operational activity there last November 22. A small group stayed to wind up final details. Chickasaw, Indiana, Alabama, Gopher, Oklahoma and Kankakee contracts were finished previously. (Henry E. Jackel now at Antioch Works).
