Huge motor driven drums like that shown in the picture dump the run of mine coal from railroad cars into the hoppers which feed the worlds largest anthracite breaker at Locust Summit, PA. The capacity of the automatic car dumps at this breaker is approximately 3,000 tons an hour. The cars roll into the drum by gravity, are clamped by an overhead yoke, and are then overturned and emptied of their content.

Hailed as a styling masterpiece virtually from the moment it was introduced on October 2, 1939 the Lincoln Continental was distinctive offshoot of the Lincoln Zephyr series, developed under the leadership of Edsel Ford. It was in effect eh Mark I, although it never actually bore that designation. The present day continental Mark V traces its heritage to the Lincoln Continental.

The fact that their credit was that good, however indicates the kind of families now entering migratory life.
