Careful precautions were taken to avoid disclosing the unprecedented fire and striking power of their aerial calling card. As with most of the aircraft industry, all Douglas plants forsook a New Years holiday and kept their production lines humming through all shifts. When this craft rolled out in the early hours of January 1, personnel of the Long Beach final assembly department selected it as a death dealing symbols of their good will for Nippon. It was one of a steady procession of such symbols for the new blackout plant is now in full production of the great wings that thunder Americas answer to treachery and aggression.

One of the objectives of ANIP was to unburden the pilot by providing carefully designed, artificially generated, more natural displays. The concept is seen to be applicable to many forms of man-machine systems. Developments of the long range program would appear to be applicable to surface vessels, submarines and ground vehicles as well as aircraft."
