Toothbrush bristles formerly came from Siberian hogs. From this machine, shown at the DuPont World's Fair Building, emerge brushes that are all chemistry. The bristles are made of a new material, derived from coal, air and water, trade marked 'Exton.' This device drills holes in the plastic handle, inserts, cuts and shapes the tufts of bristle and delivers the brush ready for packaging.

Miss Helen Evans, 20, drum major of the Delaware First Girl Drum & Bugle Corps of Talleyville, Del., who serenaded the chemical World of Tomorrow in front of the DuPont Exhibit at the New York Fair. Helen's drummers and buglers bought their uniforms with money from 17 first prizes won in 19 parades. Helen is a typist in Wilmington, Delaware, when she is not swinging her baton for her trumpeters.
