General David Sarnoff, Chairman of the Board of the Radio Corporation of America, shows the magnetic tape which RCA demonstrated for the first time today in recording television pictures in color and black-and-white. He described the achievement as a major step toward an era of 'electronic photography.' The demonstration was held at the David Sarnoff Research Center of RCA at Princeton, N.J."

Burns examine scale model of a tracking radar designed for the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) on which RCA is prime contractor. Chairman Sarnoff reported in a Year-End Statement that construction of BMEWS sites in the Far North is moving ahead on schedule. He also disclosed that RCA's sales were up 17 per cent and profits 29 per cent in 1959."
