Short film following Fred Vollmer, a gossip columnist for a local newspaper who has no interest in substantive journalism. His thinking changes when he travels to Europe and speaks with his great uncle, Johan, about how a culture of ignorance and fear in Germany after WWI allowed the Nazi Party to persuade citizens to give up their personal freedoms.
