Faint outline sketch of building with plants, garden arch, trees. Written caption on verso: "This sketch has by tradition been identified as the 19th century greenhouse at Eleutherian Mills. A pencil notation on the back of the sketch identifies it as the garden greenhouse at 'Nemours, Delaware.' According to Dr. John Riggs, Manuscript Dept., when Gen. Henry and Louisa du Pont lived at Eleutherian Mills, it was at times referred to as Nemours."

Painting by Xanthus Russell Smith depicting the capture of the Confederate ironclad 'C.S.S. Atlanta' on 17 June 1863. The U.S. Navy monitor 'U.S.S. Weehawken,' assisted by the monitor 'U.S.S. Nahant,' captured the 'Atlanta' after a brief engagement in Wassaw Sound, located near Savannah, Georgia. The vessels in the painting are, from left to right, C.S.S. Atlanta, U.S.S. Weehawken, and U.S.S. Nahant.
