Written on verso: The fitted dinner coat is Jo Copeland of Pattullo's conception of winter after dark elegance. It relies heavily on the staling brilliance of the silver and black striped Bucol fabric of nylon and metallic yarn imported by Kandelaft. The black velvet collar stands away from the neck and the fitted waist is a 1961 mark of high fashion. The little jet beaded pillbox completes the sophisticated restaurant look.

- Description

Written on verso: The golden glow of drama by Estevez, a young and talented designer who has never underestimated drama in fashion. He knows what a long stole can do to vary the lines of a shirred top ball dress with panel back. He also knows the feeling of airy and romantic moonlight that can be caught by the play of lights on this gauzy gold and white evening gown-made in a dramatic sheer of nylon and 'Chromeflex' yarn of metallized 'Mylar' polyester film. - Nat Kaplan beaded short evening dress in nylon
- Date(s)
- 1961
- Contributor(s)
- E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Company (originator)
- Description
-
Written on verso: Glitter from the 1920s inspired Nat Kaplan to make this short sparkle of a dance dress with beaded fringe at the hem. If Chanel had made a dress like this when she first shocked the world with short skirts 30 years ago, it might have glittered just as much but not so enduringly as this dress, because American Silk Mills' chiffon is made strong enough by DuPont nylon to hold all this lavish beading. This item costs approximately $175.
