Description: Mylar polyester film is produced in experimental quantities in this semi works unit at the DuPont Company's Film Department Research Laboratory in Buffalo, New York. Finished film is being wound up on roll in center of picture. Full scale commercial production must await completion of new $10,000,000 plant near Circleville, Ohio scheduled for start up the latter part of 1954.

The film is made form polymers that DuPont scientists have been working on for many years. The company is also investigating their uses as plastics, industrial finishes and coatings. DuPont is building a plant at Circleville, Ohio to manufacture H film, which has a range of properties that make it interesting for aerospace applications and in the electrical field.
