The George Read House on the strand between Delaware and Harmony Streets was built by George Read, a U.S. District Attorney and son of a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The home was built in the Georgian style between 1797 and 1801.

Located at the corner of Fourth and Delaware Streets. The house, built circa 1738 by John Finney, is the headquarters and museum of the New Castle Historical Society. It is believed that George Washington attended the wedding of Ann van Dyke and Kensey Johns Jr. in the house in 1784.

Located on Third Street between Delaware and Harmony Streets. A former Dutch governor, Jean Paul Jacquet owned the lot in 1674 and based on town records, the house was listed in 1704. Originally, the Delaware Society for the Preservation of Antiquities, began the process to utilize the house as a museum to represent the early Dutch possession which continued into the 18th century.

Marker located between Delaware and Harmony Streets. The Marker reads, 'These stones were sleepers in the New Castle and Frenchtown Railroad, completed in 1831; the first railroad in Delaware and one of the first in the United States. Erected by Commissioners of Old Court House 1915.'
