Some of the pieces necessary are very complex, demanding an extremely high order of skill on the part of the glass blower. The glass blower in this photograph is engaged in making one of the intricate pieces necessary for work in the laboratories. On the left is a special burner used in heating the glass to the point where it is soft enough to be blown into the desired shapes.
