These contact optical lenses of Lucite methyl methacrylate resin, worn next to the eyeball to correct defective vision, weigh 40% as much as optical glass and are virtually unbreakable and invisible. They now are used by about 5,000 people, including actresses, actors and athletes, but it is possible for them to be applied to 85% of all who need corrected vision.
