Miniature machine demonstrating how Cellophane cellulose film is made, a feature of the former DuPont Exhibition as it appeared at the New York Museum of Science and Industry, Rockefeller Center New York City. The spruce wood, after being ground and dissolved to form viscose, went through the various chemical baths and came out in the form of Cellophane sheets.

One of the most interesting developments in packaging came recently in the rubber industry. Measured amounts of magnesia and carbon black are now bagged in polythene film and added to the mix without removing the bag. The operation is dust free, making working conditions cleaner and safeguarding worker health. The bags were shown at the DuPont Company exhibit at the National Packaging Exposition.

The Plastics Department of the DuPont Company produces colored polythene molding powders in plants at Arlington, New Jersey and Parkersburg, West Virginia. Polythene film, lay flat seamless tubing, injection and blow molded containers and closers are supplied by plastics processors. The picture was made at the DuPont exhibit at the National Packaging Exposition.

Fatty alcohols, from which soapless soaps are made, produce unusual suds, as was shown by the demonstration at the former DuPont Exhibition at the New York Museum of Science and Industry, Rockefeller Center. On the right, Zerone anti-rust anti-freeze was shown flowing through an automobile motor and radiator in comparison to plain water. The young woman gave her own demonstration by pressing a button.

A lining of polythene film will convert a fiber drum (right) into a satisfactory container for some of the most corrosive of materials and at the same time, safeguard their chemical purity. Polythene's resistance to the action of chemicals also recommends it as a liner for metal drums.

Enlargement is forty times in one step from small negative on Velour Black one printing paper.
