This building was a drugstore in 1866 and business that developed natural fruit juices employing 40 to 50 people. In 1917, the business was sold to the Hires Company and moved near Kirkwood Park.
Early owners of the store were Adam Grubb and John Palmer. The log building was believed to be 200 years old in 1941 - circa 1741. Successive owners were Charles Grubb and Irvin Plummer.
