- Description

On verso: 'Theive's market in Mexico City can be seen from the inside but not photographed. It is too shaded and crowded. It is the market place for the middle and lower classes. The roofs are indispensable. In the middle of the day the sun would roast both merchants and merchandise. The name was given the market because when it was first founded it was frequented by many theives. The market is as free from theives now as any other part of the city but the name still goes with it.'
