Today in the Hagley Vault...

The Hagley Museum and Library is closed for a Snow Day today. Stay warm, safe, and dry, everyone!

And if this winter wonderland is giving you cabin fever, why not check out our digitized run of Philco News, like the January 1958 cover seen here? This magazine was the monthly employee newsletter of the Philco corporation, once a pioneer in battery, radio, and television production. Digital copies of the Hagley Library’s 139 issues of the newsletter, spanning the years 1945 to 1962, are available online right here in our Digital Archive. Early issues document the World War II battlefield and Philco war production; others illustrate a post-war period of booming commerce and production in the United States. This resource is part of the Hagley’s John Okolowicz collection of publications and advertising on radio and consumer electronics (Acc. AVD.JOPN.2014).
